TUF Ultrasonic Gas Flowmeter

The TUF ultrasonic gas flowmeter adopts a multi-path design, which helps reduce the influence of eddy currents and asymmetric flows on metering. It is a metering instrument with stability, high precision and high reliability, and supports multiple communication methods to meet the diverse needs of users. It can be widely used for the measurement of natural gas, alkanes and industrial inert gases in industries such as petroleum, chemical engineering, power and metallurgy, and is suitable for city gas measurement.

Principle

The ultrasonic flowmeter operates on the principle of measuring the relationship between the time it takes for sound waves to propagate in a flowing medium and the flow rate. It is generally believed that the actual propagation speed of sound waves in a fluid consists of the propagation speed of   sound waves in the medium at rest and the component of the fluid’s axial average velocity in the direction of sound wave propagation.

Requirements for Installation of Straight Pipe Sections

Installation: In the fluid direction, for one-way metering, the straight pipe section should be at least 5DN upstream and 3DN downstream. For two-way metering, the straight pipe section should be at least 10DN upstream and 10DN downstream.

Additionally, there should be no flow-disturbing elements in the inlet direction of the straight pipe section.
